Asthma Tip of the Month
August
Help your child’s teachers, coaches and principal get an A+ in Asthma!
Before school starts take some time to talk with the school staff about your child’s asthma. Make sure you review these points:
Your child’s medicines and any possible side effects
Your child’s early warning signs
Possible asthma triggers in the school like class pets,
perfume or other airway irritants
The need for pre-treating with a bronchodilator before exercise
When and how to call you regarding your child’s asthma symptoms
The school may have special paperwork for you to fill out that requires a signature from your pulmonologist. Please get those papers to us as soon as possible so the school year gets off to a great start! |
